Things To Do
We both love the lake and have created so many memories around it with our family and friends. When we were thinking about where we wanted to get married, we knew we wanted something on the lake to be at the core of our celebration. Stouts Island has so much to do so we hope you all can take advantage of it and enjoy a fun summer weekend on the lake with us.
Swimming
There is a swimming dock and raft just off the south lawn. Hopefully our weather is great and everyone can enjoy jumping in! We’re also inviting everyone to join us for a Bride & Groom swim Saturday morning, bright and early at 9 AM.
Lawn Games
We are so excited about all of the games there are to play on the south lawn! There will be bags, bocce ball, badminton, croquet, ladder golf, lawn jenga, or yard dice to choose from. If you tend to just like watching, grab a bucket of beer from the bar and enjoy from the south lawn adirondack chairs.
Fishing
If you like to fish, poles and bait are available near the boat house. If you don’t have a Wisconsin fishing license, make sure you purchase one ahead of time at a nearby stores such as Mikana General Store or Seasonal Power Toys.
Boating
Who doesn’t love a boat ride? We are planning to have a couple pontoons rented for the weekend. We will update this with more info on how to take a ride closer to our date! If you’re interested in bringing your own boat or renting, you can coordinate with Stouts to use one of the island slips.
Hiking
The main island has a walking path all around its perimeter. There is also a bridge that goes to the east island which has more paths with a picnic cabin at the far north end.
Golf
Golf is also available at Tagalong Golf & Resort. It’s a quick 5 min drive from the Stouts parking lot. We also have a block of rooms at Tagalong Resort to stay for the weekend!
Kayaking
Kayaks, canoes, and hydro-bikes are available to take out at the water sports area on the far west end of the main island. There will be life jackets in the area to take with you as well. When riding the hydro-bikes, the area under the bridge is prohibited as there are weeds that can get tangled in the propeller.
Tennis
They somehow also fit a clay tennis court on the island. Bring your own racket or borrow equipment from the office to play a match!
Billards
Inside the upper level of the boat house, you can find a Billards and Ping Pong table.
